Who this is for

This page is for the people who move inventory at a car store: the general manager, the used car manager, the inventory or sales desk, and the office staff who end up booking the truck. Franchise stores and independent lots have different paperwork, but the transport looks the same. A car is in one place and needs to be on your lot, or a sold car needs to reach the buyer.

We are based near Charlotte, NC, and the Carolinas are our home lanes. We move dealer vehicles anywhere in the continental U.S.

What we move for dealers

  • Dealer trades. Store to store, including both legs of a swap on one order.
  • Auction purchases. Picked up with the release or gate pass and brought to your lot.
  • Online and out-of-state buys. A unit bought from another dealer that needs to come home. See getting a car picked up from another dealer.
  • Customer deliveries. A sold car delivered to an out-of-town buyer.
  • Store-to-store moves inside a group. Rebalancing inventory between your own rooftops.
  • Several units at once. One order, one contact, when the lanes line up.

How it works with FCT

  1. Send the car. Pickup and drop-off, a contact at each end, the VIN, whether it runs, and when it is ready. Call the dealer desk at (980) 552-1101 or use the quote form.
  2. A real person quotes it. No rate sheet. We price the lane and the unit.
  3. We vet the carrier. Every carrier is checked before it touches the car and every shipment is fully insured. The driver and truck are confirmed before pickup, so the person who shows up at your lot is the one we booked.
  4. We confirm the windows. Pickup and expected delivery windows are set before the truck rolls. If anything changes on the road, you hear it from us first.
  5. Check-in and the BOL. Your team inspects the car and signs the bill of lading. The delivery BOL is saved in the client portal at fctorders.com.

Keep your regular hauler, add a backup

A lot of stores already have a carrier they like. Keep them. We are the call when that carrier cannot make it, when the other store is outside their range, or when a deal depends on a car showing up. You get the same contact every time you call, so you are not explaining your store from scratch. Read why every dealership needs a backup car hauler.

For loads where the delivery date matters most, ask about the Guaranteed Delivery Rate. On those loads the delivery window is in writing. Terms apply; see the dealer guarantee.

Open or enclosed

Everyday new and used inventory rides on open trailers. A high-line unit, an exotic, or a car the customer is watching closely can go enclosed, which keeps it out of weather and road debris. Our guide on when a dealer unit should ride enclosed covers the call. Non-running units can be moved too; flag them when you book, since they need different equipment.

Franchise and independent dealer questions

Do you work with independent used car lots?

Yes. We move inventory for independent lots the same way we do for franchise stores: trades, auction buys, out-of-state purchases and customer deliveries.

What do you need to book a dealer move?

The pickup and drop-off addresses, a contact at each, the VIN, whether the car runs, and when it is ready. Our dealer trade checklist has the full list.

Can you move cars between our own stores?

Yes. We handle store-to-store moves inside a dealer group, one car or several on one order.

Can I book outside desk hours?

Yes. The desk is open Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern, and you can send an order any time through the quote form or by email. See booking on a weekend or after hours.
