What fleet transport covers

Fleet transport is moving vehicles a business owns or manages, not cars it is selling. For a fleet manager that usually means one of a few jobs:

  • Repositioning. Rental or company units moved to the location that needs them.
  • Off-lease and retired units. Cars and vans leaving service, headed back to the lessor, an auction or a remarketing lot.
  • New units into service. Vehicles picked up from the selling dealer and delivered to the branch that will run them.
  • Employee relocations. A company car moved when the driver moves.

We move compact cars, sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, cargo vans and EVs for rental companies, corporate fleets and dealers running loaner or service fleets.

How a fleet move works with FCT

  1. Send the list. Every unit's VIN, year, make and model, the pickup and drop-off for each, a contact at each site, whether each one runs, and when they are ready. A spreadsheet is fine.
  2. A real person quotes it. We look at the lanes and group units that travel together onto one order where it makes sense.
  3. We vet the carriers. Every carrier is checked before it touches a vehicle, every shipment is fully insured, and the driver and truck are confirmed before pickup.
  4. We confirm the windows. Pickup and expected delivery windows are set for each site before the truck rolls. If anything changes on the road, you hear it from us first.
  5. Delivery and records. Each unit is checked in against the bill of lading, and the delivery BOL for every vehicle is saved in the client portal.

One contact for the whole fleet

A fleet move can involve several pickup sites, several drop-offs and a dozen people asking where their vehicle is. You get one point of contact at FCT for the whole order, from quote to the last drop-off.

The client portal at fctorders.com puts every order in one place. Log in with your email and a 6-digit code, no password. You see live driver location while the driver is active and the delivery BOL for each unit, which makes it easier to close out a batch of off-lease returns or confirm a branch received its cars.

Open or enclosed for fleet units

Nearly all fleet vehicles ride on open trailers. That is the standard way to move everyday cars, trucks and vans. Enclosed transport makes sense for a high-value executive car or a specialty vehicle. If you are unsure, our open vs enclosed guide explains the difference.

Units that do not run can still be moved. Flag them on the list, because they need different loading equipment, and we will tell you plainly what that changes.

Yes. We reposition rental and company units between branches anywhere in the continental U.S.
